The glaze reacts individually to heat during firing, so the patina that ends up on your cup is genuinely its own, closer to a small batch studio piece than a stock café cup. Vitrification means the porcelain itself has no porous surface for stains or odours to work into, and reheating a drink in the microwave is never an issue. The one thing to watch is the pad printed branding, which loses definition in a dishwasher, so a quick hand wash after each use is what keeps it looking crisp.
