Light Pens

Light pens in this range cover the spectrum from a compact functional LED ballpoint through to novelty topped pens where the topper is an animal figure or shaped object that lights up. The LED pen styles house the LED within the pen body or cap end, activated by a push button or reversing cap. Some combine the LED with a stylus tip at the lower end, adding touchscreen use to the ballpoint and LED functions. The novelty topped group puts the light in a separate topper above the ballpoint barrel, with animal figures, stars, hearts, dollar signs, earth globes, and other shapes as topper options. All styles write with black ink, and single-colour pad printing and full colour digital print both apply to the barrel.

What is the minimum order quantity for light pens? Most styles start at 100 to 250 units, with some LED pen styles available from 50 units per order. The lower quantities suit organisations ordering a smaller trial run or a targeted giveaway rather than a high-volume event order.

Do the batteries need replacing? The LED in most styles runs on included button cell batteries that last through the intended promotional life of the pen under normal use. Novelty topped styles use separate batteries in the topper mechanism, while the LED pen styles keep the battery within the pen body.

Can the same artwork be applied across different light pen styles? The print area dimensions differ between LED pen and novelty topped styles, so artwork sized for one style may need to be adjusted for another. A single-colour print is more adaptable across different print area sizes than a full colour digital print with tight spacing, as a clean single-colour logo scales and repositions more easily.

Are any express turnaround options available? Some styles in the range carry express production options, with 24-hour and three-day turnaround available on selected LED pen styles for orders placed within the express service parameters. Not all styles carry express availability, so checking which styles qualify before ordering is useful for time-sensitive requirements.
