Connecting customers with social media

Who isn’t on Facebook? Who isn’t on twitter? Who isn’t connected in some way to the outside world via recently emerged Web 2.0 technologies?

The answer to the above questions is generally: very few. Almost everyone in western society is connected via these online social networking tools and businesses are leveraging these opportunities. It’s become a social standard to be personally connected via the web these days but gradually a culture is emerging for businesses to likewise be connected.

Businesses aren’t necessarily giving up on the old ways of promoting like sticking their logo on some enviro bags but they’re just adding to the old methods by going online. Almost every business has a Facebook page and wants as many people to start liking it as possible. These technologies have allowed for the long-awaited bridge between the personal and the business to be made and the consumer is pleased with this as well!
